HGTV'S Matt Muenster of "Bath Crashers"
Appearing on the MAIN Stage
Friday, January 20th at 7pm
Saturday, January 21st at 12pm, 3pm and 6pm
Matt Muenster, a rural Midwest native, who suddenly found his way to stardom hosting various home improvement shows, will be appearing at the 2017 NARI Home Improvement Show at the International Exposition (IX) Center.
“I’ve done at least 75 shows like this around the country and everyone wants to know what I have learned. I can tell you three things on bath remodels--make it as big as you can, add the unexpected, like a saltwater aquarium and finish it off so it looks completely different,” he said.
After graduating with a degree in Interior Design and Interior Architecture from the University of Wisconsin, Muenster worked at a local design firm. Then a producer called one day looking for someone interested in being part of a home improvement show.
“I was just a farm kid that didn’t like public speaking and all of a sudden everything in my life changed,” he said.
In the past nine years, Matt Muenster has played host, co-host and talent on five shows airing on the DIY and HGTV Networks, the latest being Bath Crashers where he sought out and found his homeowners walking down the aisles of various home improvement stores and convincing them to take him home with them so he could redesign and renovate their bathroom in three days. The show changed the course of bathroom design today through innovation and an evolution of how we interact with the space and how it’s used.
“Think about it, you’re wet, cold and naked in your bathroom. All the more reason you have do what it takes to make it warm and comfortable—turn it into a spa if you can,” he said.
